prague, june '94 ieee 1st international workshop on services in distributed
and networked environments
i presented a paper at this two-day workshop,
which i squeezed into a twelve-day trip.
the nerdy traveler prepares to depart for
prague. traveling light ... there's a camera on my belt, a computer in
my knapsack, and a computer in my suitcase.
i visited karel czapek's grave in prague.
czapek
was an inspiration to me as a boy.
tahoe city, november '94, hackers conference
santa cruz, december '94, ieee workshop on mobile computing systems and
applications
i presented a paper at this workshop, served
on the program committee, and organized the exhibits session.
my pal darrell long
was the general chair.
the meeting was held at the
dream
inn,
on the beach in santa cruz. the rides weren't open, but the santa cruz
boardwalk
is always pretty cool. monterey
bay
is also very beautiful. i saw many sea lions and dolphins. my friend
ramón
cáceres was there, and he tells me that dolphins are good luck.
ramon has some cool underwater photos of dolphins
on his web page .
